The Colorado American Legion Adventures (CALA), is an adventure sports program for veteran members of The American Legion, and their families, developed by The American Legion, Department of Colorado. The program is designed to afford all members of The American Legion Family i.e., The American Legion, Sons of The American Legion and The American Legion Auxiliary, to get outdoors and participate together in activities that are challenging, exciting and fun.
CALA members will enjoy benefits such as discounts on activities and gear through our network of partners around the country. Our members are eligible for discounted ski lift tickets, rentals, lessons, gear, apparel and equipment just to name a few.
Members of the program will also have the opportunity to raise charitable dollars to support our partners in the community through our activities, so while you are out having fun, you will be helping other non-profit organizations by supporting their programs!
As American Legion members, and members of the CALA, we have the opportunity and the obligation to support our veterans. That is the ultimate priority of our program and organization. This program helps veterans by giving them a therapeutic and fun way of involving themselves with other veterans, returning to them the senses of comaradarie and mutual responsibility, so often lost after separation from active duty. The activities that our members are involved in, and the contributions of our program partners, provide a much needed sense of support, both from their fellow veterans and their community. This assists with our veterans' transition back into the civilian way of life, and offers them the opportunity to focus on their introspective realities which can help with their individual healing processes.
There are few things as sacred as the brotherhood
we share with our fellow veterans. So join up,
reconnect, and involve yourself with your
community!!!
